2024 for Steinway in India

2024 has been a remarkable year for Steinway & Sons India, filled with music, artistry, learning, and triumphs—celebrated all year long with the Steinway & Sons piano as our constant companion. Let’s take a moment to revisit the highlights of this extraordinary year!

The year began with a grand performance by Young Steinway Artist Neville Bharucha, who honoured the 170th anniversary of Steinway & Sons with a stellar gala performance. This was followed by Jay Parte, who made waves across India with his Bollywood renditions on the grand piano, a performance that resonated with audiences nationwide.

We took immense pride in representing Steinway & Sons at the South-East Asia Pacific Dealer’s Meet, where we achieved the highest Essex Sales, a significant milestone. Our presence was also felt on the silver screen, with Steinway pianos featured in the Bollywood film Do Aur Do Pyaar. Throughout the year, legendary Steinway artists such as Eliane Elias, Olga Kern, and Karl Lutchmayer performed in India, often at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), which remains a beloved venue for many of our artists.

This year, Steinway & Sons had the pleasure of collaborating with Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance to create a beautifully accented case for the Noé Steinway Limited Edition Piano—a true work of art. From international legends to rising local stars to piano students, there was no shortage of captivating performances, all enriched by the unmistakable Steinway sound. Several Steinway themed concerts were also conducted throughout the year at the different venues of Furtados Music, performance halls and many more!

The second half of the year saw the return of our annual music competition, the Furtados Con Brio Festival & Competition. This year’s theme, Wonder Years, celebrated the early compositions of renowned composers. The event featured choir pieces, ensembles of violin, cello, and voice, as well as conductors from the Con Brio Conducting Camp, all accompanied by the exquisite tones of the Steinway & Sons Concert Grand. Many of the Con Brio winners went on to perform at multiple Furtados venues, marking a successful and fulfilling year for the competition.

As the year drew to a close, we had the privilege of being patronized by two of the biggest names in the Indian music and entertainment industry: the legendary AR Rahman and the talented actress Madhuri Dixit, both of whom shared their love for the Steinway piano. The year ended on a joyous note with a Christmas celebration on the Steinway piano at the flagship Mumbai Piano showroom, an occasion that perfectly encapsulated our deep appreciation for the World’s Best Piano.

Truly what a year it has been!
